The weather has changed and we’ve had a lot of customers asking about our seasonal opening hours. The simple answer is ‘no change’ until the end of October. We’re open every day until the 30th of October for Autumn treats.
We’ll be serving our usual favourites of homemade soup, homebaked shortbread and, of course, Afternoon Teas. Our salad bowls will still be available, but we’re thinking that a warming bowl of soup will be more popular in the next few weeks.
We love making seasonal dishes, and our homemade apple crumble is a big favourite with our regular customers. The decision is then what to have with it? Are you a custard or an ice cream person?
October is a lovely time to visit Dumfries and Galloway. Yes, the weather can be mixed – but the views are magnificent, and you can have as much peace and quiet as you like exploring the coast, countryside and historic sites of this secret corner of Scotland. If you’d like a few ideas, have a look at the SWC 300 route. If you’re already in the area, then we’ve got a few ideas for things to do in and around New Abbey.
Whether you’re dog walking, going for a drive to enjoy the Autumn views, or having a short break in Dumfries and Galloway, we’d love to see you. We’re open every day from 10 until 5.
