The clocks have changed, the sun is going to shine and we’re open every day for Hallowe’en treats this week.
Have you ever tried homemade Scottish tablet? It’s a bit like fudge, but 10x better. It’s a traditional Scottish treat at this time of year. We’ve got our own recipe tablet for you to try, with your coffee or ready to take away for later. This year we’ve also made vegan tablet!
As usual, we’ll be serving warming homemade soup and this Hallowe’en week we’ll have Pumpkin Soup. If it’s not your thing, don’t worry, we make two different soups every day, and one is always suitable for vegan diets.
We love making seasonal dishes, and our homemade apple crumble is a big favourite with our regular customers. The decision is then what to have with it? Are you a custard or an ice cream person?
October is a lovely time in Dumfries and Galloway. The weather forecast looks great for this week, so the views will be magnificent. If you’re visiting the area, you’ll have as much peace and quiet as you like exploring the coast, countryside and historic sites of this secret corner of Scotland. If you’d like a few ideas, have a look at the SWC 300 route. If you’re already in the area, then we’ve got a few ideas for things to do in and around New Abbey.
Whether you’re dog walking, going for a drive to enjoy the Autumn views, or having a short break in Dumfries and Galloway, we’d love to see you. This week (beginning 28 October) we’re open every day from 11 until 4.
